These books represent today’s artists and are part of a growing series of art books, which serve as a visual report of producing artists from all over the world. These artists wish to bring their creative work representing all kinds of art forms to a worldwide audience with a view to international sales.

In these books, of which a new edition is published annually, we gladly make space for those artists, who show a professional approach to their art within a variety of chosen methods, materials and styles. We seek out striking works of art and their masters during art exhibitions, along art gallery routes and on the World Wide Web. Thus these books offer a wide range of artists, styles and techniques, reaching from traditional oil paintings, three-dimensional bronze sculptures, modern acrylic paintings, colourful aquarelles, edgy pop-art to exciting experimentation with plastic, lead or glass and all kinds of wondrous combinations in the mixed media technique.

Each book is divided into chapters based on the art method used to produce the various pieces within that chapter, rendering classifications such as ‘paintings,’ ‘sculptures,’ ‘ceramics,’ ‘glasswork,’ ‘paper,’ ‘photography,’ ‘objects,’ ‘etches’ and ‘gold- and silversmiths.’ The number of chapters in each book is dependent on the varieties of art forms explored within it, thus new chapters for novel art forms can be easily introduced, as seen in edition 2 in which Toyism was first launched. The artists’ works are displayed in alphabetical order, so that ‘readers’ may easily find artists and their works of art. Those artists, who choose to print two or more pages, will always find their multiple works displayed as spreads within the layout of the book. To ensure each work of art receives full and undivided attention only one piece of art is printed per page. On the left hand side of the bottom of each page the name, address and phone number of the artist is printed, while
the bottom right side is reserved for the title of the piece, its size and the technique it was created with. To avoid distractions from the actual works of art, usually as little text as possible is preferred allowing more space and attention to the work itself. Essential information about each artist or gallery can instead be accessed at the back of the book. This information includes listings of names and addresses of all participants including phone numbers, e-mail addresses and websites. Furthermore an index for each specific style of art directs ‘readers’ precisely to the pages of their interest.

That is not all! Biographies for each artist are also provided alphabetically and can be consulted in both in English and in Dutch. These biographies include short histories of artists’ education and practical experiences, and also enlighten the artists’ choices and uses of materials, while describing their inspirations and motivations. A list of exhibitions, assignments and sold work will, however, not be printed in the books. Importantly the readers will with these books gain a greater knowledge and appreciation of the art and/or artist of their liking. But there is more still...

All illustrations are published on the internet on www.originalartcollection.com with a web link to the artists’ own websites. The images on this easy to use webpage all have the copyright engraved visibly on them and are not copy-able with a click of the right mouse button, which instead takes visitors to the book purchase window.
The book is lithographed professionally and printed on 170 g/m semi-gloss paper. It is printed in special screening for optimal detail and is bound only in a hardback cover. The size of the book is 21, 5 x 22 cm. The square shape is chosen so that landscape art work can be printed in equal size to a standing counterpart, which is an important presentational feature a book with standard proportions could not optimally provide. The semi-gloss paper has been chosen for its ability to avoid bothersome reflections appearing on the page. The Original Art Collection 2006 is now being produced and you, as an artist or owner of a gallery, are invited to participate in this unique yearbook.
